VALUES STATEMENT:Access Ability has always been committed to a set of values in relation to disabled people, these values being contained inthe Company's Vision, Mission, Principles and Values Policies. The values of Access Ability are: Disabled people are individuals who have the inherent right to respect for their human worth and dignity. Disabled people include their family/whanau.
Disabled people have the right to live and be part of the community.
Disabled people have the right to realise their individual capacities for physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Disabled people have the same rights as other members of society to services that will support their attaining a reasonable quality of life.
Disabled people have the right to choose their own life style and to have access to information and services in a manner appropriate to their ability and culture.
Disabled people will receive support to enhance relationships with their family/ whanau/hapu and to form and develop personal networks.
Disabled people have the same rights as other members of society to receive services in a manner that results in the least restriction to their rights and opportunities.
Disabled people have the right to pursue any grievance in relation to services without fear of the service being discontinued or any form of recrimination.
Access Ability will work cooperatively to ensure that support is provided in a holistic way.
Access Ability will individually and collectively create new support services, and continually review and monitor existing services, so that there are real choices of support available.
The rights, needs and aspirations of the people supported are always more important than those of Access Ability.
Access Ability will proactively share resources and knowledge for the betterment of the whole disability sector.
Access Ability will ensure that support services are provided within the community of the Disabled people and their family/whanau.
